Alphonse "Phonse" Wood (24 September 1884 – 4 June 1976) was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Wood was a Western Australian, who started out at North Fremantle before playing with South Fremantle in the 1906 season.〔''Western Mail'',("The Great Men of Norths" ), 26 April 1951, p. 67〕 He then joined South Melbourne, in 1907, for a two year stint.
